Tuna Pasta - Food with Mae-13

Quick Tuna Pasta

Back to School Lunch Ideas

Swap & Common Questions

Pasta – you can use any pasta you like or whatever you have in the cupboard. My girls love ribbon pasta because it’s cute and fun! I have 2 girls

Pesto – I bought the waitrose brand as this particular one does not sunflower oil or rapeseed oil. It actually has olive in it which I prefer as I’m trying to stay away from bad oil and highly processed oil.

Tuna – I love the waitrose tuna chunks, it feels like I’m getting good quality tuna and not the scraps. Unlike other brands when you see it, it’s in smaller pieces which to me looks like it’s not good quality. It might just be me.

Tomato – I used baby plum tomatoes but you can use any tomatoes you like.

Tuna Pasta - Food with Mae-13

Ingredients

500g ribbon pasta
1-2 cans Tuna
2 tablespoons pesto
1 can of sweetcorn
1 bunch fresh basil
150g baby plum tomatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 – 2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1

Cook the pasta as instructed in the packet.

2

Once cooked and drained. Pour some olive oil to stop the pasta from sticking to each other. Let that cool down a little while you prepare the other ingredients.

3

In a large bowl add the pasta, add sweetcorn, tuna, pesto basil, salt and pepper. Mix them well together. Taste it and see if it needs more salt and adjust to your taste.

4

Put the tuna pasta in boxes ready for you family to bring it to school or work. I added the chopped tomatoes on top and some fresh basil.
