Upside Down Baked Beans & Cheese
Back to School Lunch Idea Day 6
Greggs who? I’m only Joking! Haha
I’m still looking after that penny mum and dad.
Sure you can get this in the shop but I can assure you it’s cheaper to make it at home and it’s as delicious if not better than the shops.
This recipe was quick to make, it’s easy and you don’t need so many ingredients. Make a batch of this and I can assure you that your children will enjoy it. Even the husband like it too! Haha
There is one thing I realise that I should’ve done. I should have baked the cheese first then added the baked beans and pastry on top. This way it’s not so soggy? I mean if you liked it a little more moist that’s fine too.
Swap it & Common Questions
Cheese – I used cheddar cheese, you can experiment and use other cheeses too. Don’t forget to tag me OR comment here if you tried something else.
Can I wrap the whole thing into a pie? Sure! Go for it. I gave you some ideas as a foundation, you are more than welcome to experiment!

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, fan oven.
Slice the puff pastry into 10 small sheets. Put this aside for later.
In a line baking tray, place some cheese into sections, scoop some baked beans on top of the cheese and place the puff pastry on top of the baked beans.
Next, brush the top of the puff pastry with egg wash and bake them in the oven for 15 minutes. Take them out of the oven and let them cool down on the side before packing them in lunch boxes.
