FoodwithMae - Rapsa Selfridges Popup-2

Adrian and I visited Rapsa’s Pop up in Selfridges last week for our date and of course to try their food! We were not disappointed because we enjoyed their fusion Filipino and Mexican tacos. All the tacos are served with avocado salsa, red onions, coriander and lime slices.

What we ordered:
Pork Lomo Chicharon Tacos
Chicken Afritada Tacos
Halu halo Yam-boree
Pinoy Colada with Don Papa Rum

We orders 3 portions of pork tacos and 1 chicken. You can tell which one is our favourite Pork tasted really delicious for us, the flavours really came through from the spices and pork. I love the crunchy-ness from chicharon on top of the pork. The textures made it an exciting affair in my mouth. The chicken was also flavourful, there was a hint of Afritada in there but I personally would prefer the Afritada flavours to be more prominent.

For the drinks, I ordered halu halo and I enjoyed this version because the ice is so smooth. It’s a slushy halo halo almost like eskrambul but with halu halo toppings. It also had coconut milk in it so it’s very creamy. Although I enjoyed this version of halu halo, I didn’t really like the coconut milk in this. It’s different from what I’m used to but it’s a great version as an intro to the traditional way of serving halu halo. The Pinoy Colada with @donpaparum was surprisingly really good! It’s refreshing and naughty. Both I like!

Location is great, it’s close to everything even Hyde Park where you can take your food and have a little picnic when the weather is good. There are seatings inside and outside by the windows but when it’s busy it’s hard to get a table.

Overall we enjoyed the food and drinks. It’s definitely something you want to try for snacks. It’s great if you’re shopping around Bond Street as pit stop for some fuel to continue shopping or meeting a friend for some light snacks and a cheeky bevy. I would recommend you give them a visit soon. The pop up is for 6 weeks. I thought it was value for money especially where it’s located in London.
