15 Mins BBQ Chicken Wings
Air Fryer Chicken Wings
This is the fastest I made chicken bbq wings in my life! Where were air fryers when my children were small? This is my first recipe for an air fryer and trust me I will be dedicating this year to making more recipes. Busy mums like me will need Filipino quick recipes using their air fryer and I will also create other cuisines too.
A follower on instagram asked me if I have an air fryer recipe for a particular dish that I posted and I told her that I didn’t own an airfryer. Coincidentally another follower asked me if I wanted an air fryer the day after for free! He works for Instant company and he can hook me up. I took this as the universe wants me to own an air fryer, the whole thing was a sign. SOoo keri lang (that means keep going).
I agreed to receive this wonderful gift. I was gifted the Instant Vortex Plus VersaZone air fryer. I didn’t have any intentions on buying any air fryer to tell you the truth. I always thought, my oven & grill does everything, why would I want to waste money on those? Boy! How wrong I was…HAHA!! Now I see why so many people invested in these air fryers. I can make a delicious meal in less time while I work or do other things in the house. Plus I wanted to buy a machine to dehydrate some recipes like tapa (preserved beef or meat) but this air fryer has that functionality so I was happy that I didn’t need to buy another electrical appliance.
Swap it & Common Quesions
Soy sauce & Vinegar – I’m using a Filipino brand Datu Puti soy sauce, you can buy this in Chinatown or Filpino grocery shop in Earl’s Court. And the same brand for the vinegar. I 100% believe that if you want to cook Filipino and for it to taste Filipino, you should use Filpino brand ingredients like soy sauce and vinegar.
Can I use pork? Yes you can use pork but the timing might be different, try 15 minutes and you might have to add more time to cook the pork.
Banana Ketchup – this is an important ingredient for this recipe, you can buy banana ketchup from Chinatown or in Earls court. If you’re really stuck you can also use tomato ketchup too.
I hope you will enjoy this recipe!
Ingredients
Instructions
In a bowl, add the chicken wings then add all of the seasoning and ingredients. Mix them well until the chicken is covered well with the marinade. It’s always good practice to marinate your meat but if you are in a hurry leave the meat on the side while you preheat your air fryer.
Once it’s heated, place your chicken wings in the cooking compartment, do not overload the airfryer so the wings cook evenly. Select grill (depending on the air fryer brand), set the temperature 205C and set the time to 15 minutes.
The bbq wings are now ready to eat, it’s best served with rice or chips (fries) and some soy sauce & vinegar dip on the side.
